For many people, one of the really frustrating things about using Desktop Publishing Software is the problem of coming up with a good design idea for each new project that you have to work on. For most people mastering the technology is only half the battle: you need to know something about design as well. Introducing PPA’s Design Workshops… Having an eye for design is certainly an important factor contributing to quality: but even the most successful designer’s eyes had to be trained. Now you can enjoy the benefits of being trained by experienced and professional designers during these design workshops. There are two workshops to choose from: Workshop One, Design Principles, will teach you about the basics of good design — how to recognise good design in other people’s work, and how to apply those same principles to your own work. Workshop Two, Creative Typography, will teach you how to choose and use type to persuade, influence and inform, and help you to build a typographical vocabulary. The workshops will consist of a combination of lectures, demonstrations and lots of practical work on realistic design projects. Guest speakers will contribute to the pool of expertise available, and expert assistance will be on hand to help with both the design demands of the practical work and any training issues that may arise. Free One Year Subscription to "DesignTutor" with every registration Enrol on either of the workshops, and we will pay your first year’s subscription to "DesignTutor" — the only magazine in the UK that provides you with a regular place to learn about design, pick up hints, and look at the world with a designer’s eye. (Normal UK subscription rate £27) The workshops are held in our training premises in Guildford, Surrey. The demand for places on this unique pair of workshops is bound to be high and places are strictly limited. The cost of a place on each two day workshop is £299 + VAT. This includes all course materials, one year’s subscription to "DesignTutor", and lunch and refreshments on both days of each workshop. Contact us for more information about dates and availability. |
