QuarkXPress is Desktop Publishing software, that can be used for creating typeset quality documents suitable for output to print or web-based media. Web Layouts can include interactive elements such as audio, video, animation and other features that can enhance the reading experience of electronic documents.. The current version, as of May 2011, is QuarkXPress version 9.

This 2-day QuarkXPress training course is designed for new users who wish to learn QuarkXPress and who have little or no previous experience of QuarkXPress or desktop publishing. Starting from first principles, delegates will be led through the procedures for creating new documents and modifying existing ones, and will consolidate their knowledge by means of a series of carefully constructed exercises at each stage. Click here to view examples of the type of print layouts you will create during the course, or here to see examples of Interactive layouts created in QuarkXPress

At the end of the course, delegates should feel confident and enthusiastic about using QuarkXPress and will learn how to create a range of simple but well laid-out documents including short, design-intensive publications such as flyers, leaflets and newsletters.

You will also learn how to create web Layouts that include basic interactive features such as audio, video and simple animations.

The content of Day 1 of this course is identical to Day 1 of the QuarkXPress Introductory Course. For those who have already attended the Introductory course, or who are otherwise already familiar with the content of it, and who wish to learn about the Interactive Web Layout and eBook publishing features in QuarkXPress 8 and 9, it is possible to attend just Day 2 of this course. The cost of attending Day 2 only is £250+vat, inclusive of course reference notes, unlimited email support following the training on topics covered in the course, and lunch and refreshments during the course.
